Has anyone tried the permanent laser hair removal? does it have any side effects??

I had it done on my neck and chest and had great results. The hair is still gone 6 years later. The riskiest side effect is if you tan between treatments you can get a burn because the laser will interact with the melanin in your skin.

Make sure to go someone qualifed so that you are not over or under treated. The attached sites have more information and a directory of certified providers.

Laser hair removal is excellent. My wife had her legs, underarms, bikini, and upper lip. In the beginning the treatments are a little painful but as the hairs stop growing back there is less and less pain involved. After a year of treatment, the hair is completely gone.

How expensive is permanent laser hair removal?

Most places charge bu the amount of your body you wish to treat. An upper body treatment can range from $450-$1000 depending on were you go. The reason its so expensive is because body hair is on a cycle it grows and falls out over and over every 3-6 months, and every follicle has a different begging and end date. Since it is important to laser the follicle at a specific time in this cycle you need to go for several treatments over the course of a six months to a year.

Has anyone tried permanent laser hair removal? Does it really remove all the hair completely?

Generally you need 4-6 treatments to get 99% of the hair removed. Also, some dormant follicles can go active during hormonal changes, like pregnancy. The key is going to someone experienced who owns really good equipment.

The site http://www.HairRemovalForum.com has a great list of providers who have all received positive surveys from previous customers.

I work for a Dermatologist who does laser hair removal and there are a few catches! Most people need more than just 1 treatment-but USUALLY it does work after a few appointments! Check with your local dermatologist or who ever does laser hair removal in your town! Usually you can schedule a consult appointment to answer any questions you have!! Good Luck!

Do permanent home hair removal kits really work?

and what brands/prices derive the best quality?

Do permanent home hair removal kits really work?

I've used Nad's (oh, why couldn't she call it something else?!?) for years now, and I love it. It's made from all natural products and goes on cool, rather than a warm, almost singeing wax. Be prepared for some pain at first- after 2 or 3 treatments, the hair will become softer and pull out more easily. Eventually, it stops growing in altogether. Contrary to popular opinion, shaving doesn't cause your hair to grow in thicker ( see: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hair-re... but it is less convenient. I once bought an infomercial at-home "laser" hair remover that was a load of bunk. Leave that to the pros. But waxing works just fine, if you can get past the initial pain process.

Do permanent home hair removal kits really work?

they work but from my experience they strip all of the color from your hair and I mean all also it made my hair very very dry I should have gone to a pro to get it fixed

You do not need to use that stuff you will mess yourself up...man you better just get use to shaving or what I do that worked for me was I used Nair and after a few uses my hair does not grow back as think and i some spots not at all ( this is on my legs) and I do not complain it is less to shave and sometimes I can get away with not shaving at all. ( I am a light skin African American) I would stick to shaving because even though you hair grows back and it gets annoying it is much safer.

It's semi-permanent. It will get rid of most hairs after six treatments, and the regrowth will be very light and fine for a time, but you will need to go back for a touch-up treatment every year. I didn't, and three or four years on, the hair is back to about 60% of what it was to start with.

Permanent body hair removal?

When getting hair removal make sure you dont sunbath/tan bed just before...wait 72hrs. also it doesnt work on true blonde hair or white hair...it needs the darker color to attract the laser. in our spa most can be taken care of in 4 to 6 treatments...but we continue to treat until it is removed...without further cost to you. as far as cost goes....chin is about 300.00 total cost....whole legs about 1300.00 total cost bikini with underarm about 700.00 total cost. it should not cause any real pain...you do feel the zap of the hair which is uncomfortable ....but if it is causing real pain then you should stop the treatment....wait a few days and make sure you dont blister....if you do you need to talk with the doctor or find another one.
