Bearded Lady!I have a BEARD, and I'm a girl!?

I have hairy breast, hair on my stomach, hair on my back and butt. It's EXTREMELY visible, i have no money to get surgery. What are some long-term options I have for permanent hair removal, that are affordable. As u can guess this has thrown my self esteem out the window, how can I repair that as well.

If you do decide you have to do something, then there isn't a simple answer.

Facial (and also body) hair on women comes about in the same way as on men because of

1) your body being sensitized, before you were even born, to testosterone -- doesn't happen to all girls, but does to many

2) your body producing high levels of testosterone

The growth rate and coarseness of the hair depends on just how much testosterone is circulating in your bloodstream.

Steer clear of bleaching -- when someone sees you against the light you'll look as if you have a glowing moustache and/or beard.

As far as removing it is concerned it's worth remembering that

* Waxing, plucking, threading, epilating all pull the hair out by the roots and where the growth is hormonally-driven can actually stimulate a dormant follicle into producing more hair quicker. They also distort the root if done repeatedly, leading to hair growing at strange angles. And you've got to let the hair grow to quite a length before you can repeat the exercise. It can also damage the skin and discolor it. Long-term use of waxing also causes bad wrinkles.

* Chemical depilatories strong enough to remove the hair are very likely to burn the skin, cause swelling and cause long-term discoloration of the skin.

* Laser is also liable to cause burning and discoloration and in any case only works effectively on a dark hair/light skin combinantion.

* Electrolysis is very liable to cause scarring and discoloration of the skin.

Which, like it or not, leaves shaving which does not damage the skin. Best done with a men's-style electric razor, the best of which, for women, are probably those from the men's range of Norelco razors (Philishave outside the US). Most women who try a men's Norelco wonder why nobody ever told them about it before.

sounds like you have too much testosterone in your body. Check with your doctor i'm sure there are hormone pills that they give you. Although i'm not possitive, can't hurt to ask.

We all have testosterone... yes, even girls. It sounds like you have a little more. Ask your doctor about this.

And don't worry. I have a lot of peach-fuzz hair on my stomach too. It's annoying. So you're not the only one.

Permanent hair removal isn't really permanent. You have to go in and get it done several times to keep it up. And it's very expensive.

I think you should see your doctor and have your hormone levels checked. It may be some type of chemical imbalance that can be easily fixed. As for removal there is waxing ,it lasts a couple of weeks and is semi affordable.Good Luck!

Nair or waxing can help... I have a little bit of hair on my lower back %26amp; in the summer I use Nair to get rid of it. It makes it really smooth %26amp; it lasts for a while! You can use that Nair on your breasts, stomach, back %26amp; butt. As for you face they have a Nair especially for that. But you might want to try waxing too. A little more painful but it gets rid of the hair! Usually any Salon or Spa can do this for you or you can get an "At Home" waxing kit %26amp; do it yourself. And dont worry there are tons of other girls that have this same problem so dont let a little hair get you down. Especially when there is a way to get rid of it. I hope this helps! Good Luck :)
