Does home elecrolysis (hair removal) work?

What I want to know is, are the results permanent, and is it possible to get visible results on areas other than your face without doing it hundreds of times?

My friend brought one of these and it is now in her cupboard, she said it would take forever just to get rid of a small amount of body hair. She used it but was not impressed with it.

I have a small, cheap home electrolysis kit, i've only used on a small patch of hair on my stomach but there it has removed it permanetly. You do have to do it for several cycles but not hundreds of time. It is worth it in my opinion.

i bought one fro my eyebrows and basically it was a glorified pair of tweezers on a wire and when you pulled the tweezers off the base a red light came onto make you think it was in action.total waste of money. a load of tripe. just keep shaving , waxing and using hair removal cream like the rest of us!!!

I think it depends on what brand you get. There will never be a quick fix remedy. I use a Beautico E - Pen and personally I would recommend it to any one. Yes I have used it hundreds of times but I can see the results, it is worth it!!! It is painless too. It can be used all over the face/body as it comes with various size/shape pads.

ok this is in my line of work, i work in beauty...i have never used one before but i do know that it is not permenant. If it is something more permanent that you want then there is a treatmant called IPL stands for intense pulsed light a form of laser but it uses light instead it is a hair reduction. It is in alot of salons now depending on where you are you would have to do your homework!I have had this treatment and i love it, its fab.Not really painfull but is costy. Type it into the net that will give you more info! Other than that i would say go for Waxing!! hope this helps good look

years ago i used an at home probe(needle) and recently used the Verseo E-pen. Both work but I wouldnt recommend probes they hurt too much and you run the risk of scars. The E-Pen works great and is permenant but the down side is that the pads are small and you need buy many of them along with the conductive gel since each pad is only good for 8 uses.

Home electrolysis is a total waste of time. I used to work at a MediSpa and people would come in constantly with stories on how they wasted their time with it. Getting it done right, at a reputable location, is much less expensive and frustrating over the long haul.

The attached site has a message board filled with complaints on home electrolysis. The site also offers providers of in office procedures. Good luck.

Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method approved by die American Food and Drug Administration. It requires a highly skilled beautician because if not used properly you can burn, get infected and get scars. There is only one way, and that is to insert a needle into each hair follicle hundreds of times. Electric tweezers and other stuff don't work.

You can get results but you must be aware of the incredible risk you take. I won't recommend it all. It's only for a small area and how are you going to see what you are doing on the backs of your legs? You really can get bad skin damage with home machines. Rather save money and go to a pro, or go for laser (which is not permant removal but rather long-term reduction by the way).

Hi!

home electrolysis hair removal has been known to be non-effective in permanently removing hair from the body. If you are keen on a long term solution, you shld be considering electrolysis hair removal done by an electrologist or laser hair removal.

Electrologists, who are well-trained to perform the electroysis hair removal procedure, usually make use of medical electrolysis devices( known as epilators) to destroy the growth center of the hair with a short-wave radio frequency. In addition, a very fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle at the skin surface in order to remove the hair with forceps easily. In this way, the electrologist can accurately disable the hair root and cause minimal harm to other parts of the head.
