How exactly does laser hair removal work?

Technically this is lots of questions....so here goes...Is it permanent? What's the general expense expectations? Will it work on anyone? I've got light skin, and light "peach fuzz" type facial hair, do you think I would get good results? Also, is it painful or rough on your skin? Where would I go to get the procedure doneproperly? I know nothing about it, so any tips or information is greatly appreciated!

I had my laser hair removal today first time! I had my underarms done. It took about 20 minutes, I felt the pain, but it was bearable, a little worse than getting a tattoo. The lady who did it was very understanding and very gentle.

After treatment lots of hair just fell off! And the skin in the area where they fell off is very smooth now, like baby skin.

The woman told me that it takes from 4 to 6 treatments to completely get rid of all hair permanently; there are approximately 5-6 weeks between each treatment. They charged me $265 per treatment. I live in Boca Raton, Florida.

I am happy so far and planning to do brazilian laser hair removal soon, too. It cost more expensive though, $370 per treatment so I need to start saving some money!

Go for it, the only thing that I suggest is to check that the person who perfoms laser hair removal has license to do that, and then you will be fine!

Good luck!

My aunt does this stuff so i can anwser almost every question. First of all it is NOT permanent. You have to go back and get it done about every month. You can ask your doctor for a place near you that would do it but besides that you can go to pretty much any spa place. I have heard that they will tell you there if it will work good on your skin or hair so you can just ask and they will be able to tell you. It is diferent for every person! I hope that this helped you a little!

hi, I am currently suffering from chin hairs, ew I know girl, Well the lazer it self , feels like a burst of mist slashing on your skin ( steam- ish pulsating-ish kind of ..splash) and thats it- no pain- clicking noise thats it., its about $75-100 per treatment, the hair dosent fall off right away, u must shave everyday between treatments - if its a bad area(like mine) . They say the color of your skin supposed to affect the results of discoloration. and it might ..., but my advise to you is to check credintials, ask a LOT of questions, and remember there a several difffrent 'lazers', for instance* I need a yag lazer becuase im darker. ( I once saw a provider who failed to educate me about that),, in my honest opinion when chosing someone to do it, choose expierence over education. only because lazer treatment is so customized, and there are so many skin color myths. And ask a LOT of questions,

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods. Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged. A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://3rc.info/
