Best hair removal options for below the waist --- brazilian wax???

I have a question, WHAT exactly is a brazilian wax? Does it remove ALL the hair in the pubic region from front to back?

Also, is this the best alternative if you want to be 100% CLEAN down there?

I know there is aesthetic, laser, and wax? Which one gives you longer results? Is there a permanent solution? In order, which is most painful and expensive?

I like being clean all the time but shaving sux and creams like veet are messy with only temporary results.

Thanks for the help!

Lasers are the most effective and permanent solution for removal of hair on the body. It requires several treatments and can be expensive, but add up the cost of products, time spent, and the hassle of getting nicked or having skin react to shaving or creams, and laser comes out way ahead in my opinion.

What you are looking for is called a brazilian. A brazilian removes all hair from the pubic area, including the perineum and around the anal area, and in between the folds. It may also include any hair that grows above the pubic bone onto the lower belly. A good technician will do a test patch to be sure your skin handles the laser well. There will be some swelling and mild redness, but this will disappear quickly. The cost can be approx. $300-$400. per treatment and people usually require 3-4 sessions to succesfully remove all the hair. You will be asked to shave the area you would like to have lasered prior to the treatment. Dark hair responds best to lasers treatment. Laser can be done anywhere on the body, but the skin must be intact, and a good technician will avoid moles, etc.

a brazilian is hair removal from absolutely everywhere in the pubic region. laser would probably be the answer your after, nothing on the market is really permanent. although laser is the longest lasting up to several months. waxing on the other hand is a once a month thing and is less expensive. I would say have a brazilian wax first so you know what it is your getting then go for something like laser if your happy with it.

Well it really depends on your threshold level of pain and the size of your pocketbook....

A brazilian wax removes all the hair down there. It can cost about $60-$80 each time and you'd have to get it done about once a month.

The laser thing is more permanent... it's supposed to eventually stop hair growth all together. Obviously it's a lot more expensive... I'm not sure how much each session costs, but I know it's in the hundreds of dollars range. It takes several sessions before the hair stops growing. It's a lot less painful than waxing.

Good luck! :)

Yes, a Brazilian wax removes all hair, and of course is not permanent. I have not done this but I think it's pretty painful once you get to the more sensitive areas. Waxing is less expensive than laser, but of course it needs to be repeated often. Laser is the most permanent, is less painful than waxing, and is probably cheaper in the long run. You would have to check prices in your area, but it would be over $1000 for sure. However, you might not have to pay the whole fee up front. It's a long term process, and appointments are scheduled about every 6 or 7 weeks over a period of a year or so. All hair is removed at each visit, but since there's always some hair not growing at any given time, there will be some regrowth (but not much), inbetween visits. Any new growth needs to be shaved, not waxed prior to the next visit...because they need to get to the root of the hair that waxing would remove, but the regrowth is not like what you started with so it's not too bad.

If you want to be "100% clean" all the time, then laser is your best and least painful option, really. I had just the bikini line area done and it was well worth the money. I was able to make a payment every time I went for a visit, so I didn't have to pay the total fee up front. Ask around in your area and get some estimates.

Laser produces permanent results but can be costly and time consuming.

A Brazilian removes all the pubic hair except for a tiny "landing strip", as well as removes the hair around the anus.

The more long term solution would be laser hair removal and could provide the permanent solution you are looking for. The laser hair removal option is expensive but gives lasting results. I think they are all equally painful but the pain doesn't last very long with all of them.

Since everyone has already answered, i'll say this, brazilian wax removes all hair from your pubic area, around your vagina and yes, around the anal area if you want.

The first time you get a wax, it will be very smooth. Make sure that your hair is 1/4 of an inch, otherwise the beautician won't be able to pull all of it out as it'll be too short (ouch!).

As a chick, there is no 100% 'all the time' hairless solution. Let's be honest here. Laser surgery is an ok possibility, and for most people, while it's costly it usually isn't always permanent. And it doesn't always work. Some people's hair growth is different from others, making laser surgery on body hair a complex issue. If it's particularly fast growing, it could take months of treatments. Very, very costly! And it might not work. They make it a 'no guarantee' thing if you read between the lines carefully.

If it was that simple, don't you think everyone would be getting laser surgery on every hairy body part?

I'm telling you like it is, brazilian is good but painful for the first time. It always is a little, but it's much better than Veet in terms of how long it'll last i can guarantee you! You might never find a 'permanent solution', but it just depends what rocks your boat, so to speak. I don't know where people get 3-4 weeks of clean smooth results from brazilian wax from, because everybody's rate of hair growth is different. If your hair grows back fast, i can guarantee the smoothness might only last a week. If it's light, then you might get 2-3 weeks before the painful regrowth starts and you have to exfoliate that area (YES!) almost everyday until you go back for another wax.

Good luck. Experiment.

  1. first brazilian bikini or waxing are usually the hardest to forget and the most memorable ones. it teaches you a lot of things or tips of when you'll be scheduling you're next appointment to the waxer or when you're doing it alone using a DIY kit.
