Ways to remove facial hair other than shaving?

Hi! Shaving is really ineffective... it works for a very short time, and it doesn't remove hair perfectly... it also irritates the skin a lot. So, what are some other ways to remove facial hair? I know there's laser hair removal, but it's much too expensive for me now. :( I know I'll never want any facial hair, so permanent methods are welcome :)

Personally I like the electric gizmos that look like a shaver but they pluck the hair instead of cutting it, therefore removing the roots. You can buy one in cosmetic stores anywhere from $25. to $75.

Waxing But anything other than shaving is extrodinariyl painful. I use an electirc shaver with good effect.
