It's supposed to be permanent, but you may have to go back later in life for a touchup.

Ask your technician about the patients he/she has and if they have come back and how often, you have the right to know.

I had it about 2 years ago for a bit of lip hair and I was a bit annoyed about the whole experience. The lady told me that as an "added bonus" for me, it would also fade the freckles above my lip. What she should have explained is that it would completely change the colour of my skin in that area - I had to put up with about a year of greyish skin above my lip which still looked funny with makeup. After spending a bit of time in the sun the colour has returned to normal, but my advice is be wary of getting it done on your face, where a slight skin colour change would stand out. As for the hair, the long dark hairs havent returned. I still have very fine short light coloured hair there but it isnt noticeable.
